Tibetan Buddhist monks spend days drawing a mandala in coloured sand. The moment it is finished, they sweep it away by hand. The rite keeps nothing of what took so long to make, and in doing so it shows plainly that nothing stays.
We live in the opposite tempo. Most of the world's data was made in the last few years, and algorithms copy and pour out new images by the second. When generation never stops, disappearance becomes hard to see — and once disappearance is invisible, generation stops being an event at all.
〈무제 (無諸)〉 lays a circular mandala, woven from data, across the floor of the gallery. It blooms along the path of whoever walks in, grows for as long as they stay, and collapses when they leave. No finished form is preserved. When the next person enters, the mandala begins again from nothing.
What remains is not a shape but a sensation. 諸行無常 — all things arise and pass away. Making and vanishing are not two opposing ends but a single closed circle, and the visitor is not someone watching it from outside but the hand that draws it.
