Three Pieces: Untitled III returns to the 3D drawing of Untitled II through cyanotype. Twenty-four contact prints isolate its details, registering the hanging drawing not as a single image but as a sequence of fragments.
Placed on light-sensitive paper, the 3D drawing becomes a mask for light. The areas it covers and the openings it leaves behind emerge in different shades of blue. The shadows that spread across wall and floor in Untitled II are fixed here on paper, but the drawing is not simply reproduced: exposure, duration, and light bring its details into view anew.
Each print is an independent image, yet the twenty-four works form a larger arrangement. Together, they show a drawing being taken apart and connected again. Untitled III is not a record of the preceding work, but another drawing made through light and photosensitive paper.
〈Three Pieces: Untitled III〉는 II의 3D 드로잉을 사이아노타입으로 다시 읽은 24점의 연작이다. 한 장의 매달린 드로잉 안에 있던 선과 빈틈을 접촉 인화로 나누어, 작업의 일부를 각각의 푸른 이미지로 옮겼다.
빛에 민감한 종이 위에 드로잉을 놓고 빛을 쬐는 동안, 선이 가린 자리와 비어 있는 자리는 서로 다른 푸른 농도로 남는다. II에서 벽과 바닥으로 번져 나갔던 그림자는 여기서 종이 위에 고정되지만, 드로잉의 모습이 그대로 복제되지는 않는다. 빛에 닿는 방식과 시간에 따라 작업의 세부가 새롭게 드러난다.
각각의 인화는 독립된 이미지이지만, 24점이 함께 놓이면 하나의 드로잉이 분해되고 다시 이어지는 과정이 보인다. III는 앞선 작업의 기록이 아니라, 빛과 감광지로 다시 만들어 낸 또 하나의 드로잉이다.
