Three Pieces: Untitled II brings the dense, organic mark of 3D drawing into the format of a hanging scroll. Drawn in ABS filament with a 3D pen and suspended on neutral fabric, its material language recalls the ramie gauze traditionally used in Korean hanbok. The work remains deliberately unstable: neither a flat drawing nor a fixed sculpture.
Seen from both sides, the drawing becomes porous. The fabric carries thousands of deposited loops while the openings let the room pass through. Illumination projects its pattern onto the surrounding wall and floor, extending the work as shadow. This shadow is not a secondary image, but a shifting counterpart that changes with the viewer's position.
Repetition is the work's method and measure of time. Each small mark records physical duration, while their accumulation produces a field that continually shifts between density and vacancy, image and body, surface and space.
The work does not fix the viewer's gaze on a single form. Interlaced lines, openings, and cast shadows invite shifting associations: landscape, body, living form, or something without a name. These images are not prescribed. They emerge differently for each viewer, in the moment when sensation precedes explanation. In that space of intuition, the work remains open and continually takes form.
〈Three Pieces: Untitled II〉는 3D 펜으로 그린 선들을 천 위에 겹겹이 쌓아 하나의 드로잉으로 만든 작업이다. 한복의 모시를 떠올리게 하는 얇은 천에 필라멘트 선이 더해지면서, 작업은 벽에 걸린 그림이면서도 공간 안에 놓인 조각처럼 보인다.
관객은 작업의 앞과 뒤를 오가며 드로잉을 마주한다. 성긴 선 사이로 반대편의 공간과 사람의 모습이 비치고, 조명에 의해 생긴 그림자는 벽과 바닥 위로 퍼진다. 눈앞의 드로잉과 그 그림자가 겹치면서 작품의 형태는 계속 달라진다.
이 작업에서 반복은 같은 행위를 되풀이하는 데서 멈추지 않는다. 작가가 남긴 작은 선들은 시간의 흔적이 되고, 그 선들이 모여 만든 빈틈과 밀도는 관객의 움직임과 빛에 따라 새로운 장면을 만든다.
작업은 관객의 시선을 하나의 형상에 고정하지 않는다. 서로 얽힌 선과 빈틈, 그 사이에 드리운 그림자는 보는 이마다 다른 연상과 생각을 불러낸다. 누군가는 풍경을, 누군가는 몸이나 생명체의 흔적을 발견할 수 있지만, 그 형상은 끝내 하나의 이름으로 정리되지 않는다. 감각이 해석보다 먼저 작동하는 이 순간, 작품은 관객 각자의 직관 속에서 열려 있고 계속해서 새로운 모습으로 만들어진다.
